We will be featuring a new Children's book written by Marsha Granberry, and illustrated by Donna Eastman. Available soon!
Marsha is often referred to by her friends as a "kid whisperer." That's because she has always enjoyed working with children. Even whaen she was a little girl, she enjoyed playing school with her sisters. During her teaching career, she has worked with students of all ages, including teaching college students at Wichita State University and Southwestern College and working with special education students. She also had the opportunity to mentor several dozen student teachers. While teaching in Wichita, Kansas, she has been honored with the Golden Apple Award as well as being nominated as a career ladder teacher. Her teaching was impacted by being an apprentice to a licensed storyteller to gain an additional teaching tool. Using the art of storytelling came in so handy in the classroom as Marsha shared classic fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and popular children's books with her students. She simply fell in love with reading stories, telling stories, and writing stories. Marsha has always enjoyed paying attention to what children enjoy, and bandages just happen to be one of those things. She feels fortunate to have found an illustrator who is able to picture the children's world that she values so much. She hopes that this book will be enjoyed by any child reading it and that it will help them feel a little better as they turn each page!
Accomplished artist and business professional, Donna met Marsha while living in Kansas for 5 years while taking care of family business. After 20 years in Chamber of Commerce roles in CA, AZ, and KS, she started devoting more time to the arts. It was during a small art show in Norton that she met Marsha who noticed Donna had illustrated two children's books. They discussed working together, because Marsha had several stories she was anticipating to publish. After getting to know Donna's work and seeing her studio, Marsha said let's do this! Donna had some Kansas contacts in the publishing industry, and after reviewing the story 'The Bandage Queen', they set out to work together publishing children's stories! This is their first venture together. Donna is an award winning signature member of the Arizona Watercolor Association, and has an extensive background in sales and promotion. She has sold many of her originals and prints, with enthusuasm for varied subject matter. She has shown her work previously at the Brumley Art Gallery, Oakhurst & Bass Lake, CA, the Williams Gallery in Williams, AZ, featured as Artist of the Month at the Dane G. Hansen Museum in Logan, KS, and AWA juried art shows all over Arizona. She is thrilled to be working with Marsha and letting her love of nature and sense of humor shine through in her illustrations!
